Default Toyota Tacoma Question

Hi guys,

I am interested in a Tacoma (I would buy used) but I had a question.

Latley, I have noticed that some Tacoma's just look much more attractive/sporty than others. I am not talking about accessories and such, but the body of the car itself. Does anybody know if there is a sport model or a reason why this would be?

Thanks, Connor.

SR5 Package is just a trim package nowadays, it used to denote a 5 speed manual...

I think that some trucks have a TRD off road packare or something that raise the ride height etc...

There is also a new Raptor ripoff called the Tacoma Baja: Toyota goes Raptor-lite with Tacoma Baja edition

Welcome to CFN.

My dad has a 99 Tacoma SR5. It's a nice little truck...gets close to 30mpg (though he drives with a pretty soft foot) and with the quad cam V6 it's surprisingly quick. The newer ones have an offroad package, and yeah the SR5 used to actually mean something...the series my dad has is pretty much the same regardless of what package you get. Also, wiki is your friend ;p

What model year are you looking at? With Toyota trucks there is base, SR5 and Limited package.

Limited offers the most little stuff making the car look better. Most models sold with TRD installed as well.

My dad had his first Tacoma truck and it was an 03 or 04. Empty trailer caused the car to flip (so he says), and then it rolled over 3-4 times. Survived, so I'd recommend the truck.

If you are doing any kind of serious towing or off road stuff get the tundra instead.
