Default Joined for first car advice.

My birthday is coming up and I am looking to get a classic/old car. I have it narrowed down to two choices.

1978 Chevy Nova, 250 CID straight 6 engine. 1250$ Will need new paint and wheels. (The 250 will most likely be ripped out and replaced with a 350)

1976 Ford Maverick, Roller, 1800$ o.b.o. Will need engine and trans.

I personally like the body style more on the maverick than on the nova. But Id like opinions on which you think would be the better car.

I think building up the 250 on the Nova would be pretty cool. It would make it unique, at least.

Keeping that in mind, also found a Grand Torino with a 429 in it. Needs some work. 1250& o.b.o

Its in pretty rough condition all together. Needs new paint and some new panels. Will probably check out the Maverick and the Grand Torino in person.

I personally wouldn't want a first car to be a project...
