Default Help!!!

Hi I'm new to this but I live in Alberta Canada, and I was recently scammed buying a car, the guy was "living" in Calgary ab, he had a 2004 Evo that I have boughten and taken home, now the problem is he had papers on the car plus a car fax showing it last registered in Alberta I even checked the vin and the carfax to make sure it was the same, so I went to insure and register the car and was told this is an American car and has not been through Canadian customs or any inspections, what can I do so I can get it to be legal in alberta!?

The car was registered outside Canada and you didn't see that on the papers when you bought the car?

You will need a bill of sale from the registered owner.

You will need to take the bill of sale to the U.S. customs office and declare that the car is no longer going to be registered in the U.S.

You need to take those papers and the bill of sale to the Canadian customs office and have it registered in Canada.

You need to take the car to have a vehicle inspection.

After passing the vehicle inspection you can now insure it.
