Unhappy In car surveillance

On four separate occassions, on four different vans, I have had the full length of my van body 'keyed', one of which was only 6 hours old! Three days ago I took possession of my new Mercedes-Benz Vito Dualiner. Parked round the corner from the house, I discovered the next morning that someone had prised off the badge on the bonnet and also the three pointed star on the grill. It would have been nice to have been able to video the culprits by having a 360 degree swivel motion detect camera fitted to the inside roof of the vehicle. Unfortunately I can't find anything in the shops or online that fits my requirements. Does anyone know of such equipment, which won't cost me an arm and a leg? Thank you

I would suspect you would be better off buying one of those alarms that notify you via phone/key fob. I am sure you could set something up, but with a recording system and such your looking at a high power requirement as well as a place for storage of video. I think the costs will be high and the functionality will be low.
Do your part to increase minivan population, go bareback...its more fun anyways!

Or feel free to drive that SUV and argue its not just a raised station wagon....jus sayin.

I think the keywords you want to search for are "Car Vandalism Surveillance Camera". I was also looking for a security camera for my car. It took some searching but when I used those combination of keywords I found some stuff. Good luck!

Viper smart start security, with a proximity sensor installed. It will cherp when motion is sensed around the vehicle, and then get too close, it goes off. Smart start will notify you via phone message through the app on you droid or iphone, for anything that goes on, everything from a warning, to alarm going off, also you can lock, unlock, start, stop or even locate the vehicle via its GPS unit (addition cost). I cant remember what i paid monthly, but it wasnt much for the functionality and safety it offered. We installed many alarms back for the Catrina disaster because contractors were constantly having tool stolen from their trucks/vans. Smart alarms weren't around then, but they still had the 2way pager, which was enough to deter most vandals/thief's.

To have a full on surveillance system would be very expensive for just a vehicle. But perhaps a go-pro or 2 could serve your needs, turn them on after work, and only look them over if you notice something wrong, and you will catch anyone. But it would be tedious having to erase the footage every day since storage is limited, and you would also need to wire it in to the battery on the vehicle for power for such a long duration.
