Default toyota previa chugging

hey everyone

I've never posted or been a member on a forum before, so let me know if i'm missing something.

So I bought a Toyota previa, '92, it chugs a bit when the gas is first pressed then it smooths out. Starts happening at 20 mph and gets less around 40 mph. It doesn't do it until the car warms up a bit. I changed oil, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, put some fuel injector cleaner in the gas. Sounds like it's coming from the mid of the van, tranny area, but a tranny guy took it around and said he thinks it's a misfire with the motor, but didn't seem convinced of that either.. so that's why i'm asking a broader group of people.
thanks for any input.
