Default Yep, another new chic

G'day all!

Yeah, another newie .. thought I'd put my paw up and give a holla

So, I need advice on a car (guess I'm in the right spot haha!) but not very knowledgable on them ..

Am looking for a car (pref Ute) that can pull a double horsefloat (yeppers, and a horsey gal) .. not sure how much that'd weigh, but yeah Must be auto too .. any ideas? Pref reasonabley cheap to run/maintain (if that's possible lol!)

Cheers

Its a diesel vehicle so I imagine the fuel economy is ok, however trucks in general aren't your best bet if you want a vehicle that is fuel efficient. I'm spending about $400 a month on gas for the frontier, (4.0L V6) it gets around 20mpg highway/14 city.

They are pretty much the same as the Tacoma, but diesel instead of gas.

She wants a truck though. Thats what ute means in Australia. The Toyota Hilux however is a bit underpowered for your needs unless you get an 2005 or newer which have an updated engine with quite a bit more towing capacity. How much are you looking to spend and after towing capacity what traits in a vehicle are most important to you?

Sorry, didn't realise 'truck' was the correct term to use rather than 'ute' .. cheers for that

Ok, it doesn't have to be a 'truck', but it would make life so much easier. I need something that is reasonabley fuel-friendly.

The most 2 important requirements are:

Must be able to tow a double horse float/trailer (float weighs about 940kgs .. then plus about 400kg for a horse, more depending on size).

Must be automatic.
