Default Hi my name is ray and Im new

I have the following question
I am driving a 01 primera petrol and when the car is in idle there is a growling noise coming from the engine.I have tried changing the fan belt but to no avail however when you increase the revs on the engine just slightly this noise goes away.
Any ides what is causing this

If you rev the engine up and the noise goes away,I would make sure the RPM is set to
the mnufecture requirments, can you increase the basic RPM to 900-1000?
other way is the good old way of taking a wood stick (like a broom stick) touch the valve cover on one end and liston on the other end, many times you will note where does it come from.touch the alternator too
it might be the timing belt bearings or if you have hydraulic lifters which might be noisy on low RPM

i'm not familar with the car but it sounds like a power stirring pump on it's way out growling then quites under rev is nomrally in the pump other pulleys can make these niose to but they tend to get louder with higher RPM's although as the pump gets worst it'll really start making niose at all rpm's if you can take a video may be from a phone so I can hear it to tell for sure.
