Default Beginner

Hello everyone i just wanted to post a thread to say hello to all i just created my account.

Now my actual question to anyone who can give me advice or such is im pretty much a begginner when it comes to cars so i was looking to learn alot more about everything what things do and what not ive already begun searching and asking mechanics, friends, parents what certain things are but my main goal really is to atleast get a understanding on how everything works and changing from stock parts to performence parts if that makes anysence... its quite emberassing when friends start talking about certain things that i have no clue what in the world their talking about :P but if there any advice anyone can give me i would really apreciate it maybe as a starting point.

thank you

Hi

I'd recommend that you read through some of the forum's posts, and even some of the articles on the right side of the forum homepage.

Feel free to ask questions, we are all pretty laid back an understand that not everybody knows everything, we all started somewhere.

8-10K can get you something really nice, but you might want to start off with something Reliable, and holds it's value.

Clean Hondas hold their value the best. a 95 accord 3 years ago was 5K and it's still pretty much 5K.

The only real advice i can offer is don't believe everything you hear when it comes to cars most people say alot with out knowing who what when where and why then like to argue about it. If your friends start talking about stuff try to remember the jist of it like what type of cars engine numbers and parts names even sneak away and wright it down then come back and well try to fill it in and explain it that way you don't feel embarressed.

Oh and Welcome!

yeah, like there was this one guy that was told to clean out his engine after the oil change. Well he used water/garden hose and turned on the engine while it was running water LOL. Yeah needless to say he no longer has that car.
