Default New!

Hey guys, finally decided to join

Some of you may know me from dogforum, if so, I'm sugardog.

My name is Donna and as the username suggests, I drive a corvette. It's a '96 Corvette Coupe, T-top, and it's been upgraded from an LT1 to an LT4 and stock exhaust to a Borla dual. And for some strange reason, the previous owners put a tow hitch on it. Thats a pic of it in my avatar

I just decided to join because I'd like to start adding to it and upgrading it, so I'll probably have lots of questions and I want lots of suggestions

Welcome aboard!!!

I've seen a lot of odd vehicles with tow hitches. To be honest, you can probably tow with just about any vehicle, just the idea that certain vehicles aren't made for that at all, or just seem really out of place doing so. A corvette falls into that second category, because I'm sure if it is equipped right it can probably tow a surprising amount of weight.

Thanks guys ^_^

I'm not sure what it towed, either snowmobiles (it originally came from Massachusetts) or jet skis or a small boat since it's second home was with a man living up near the lake about an hour away.

It would sure be a strange site seeing a corvette towing something though My only concern is the body. Being a corvette, it was made to race, so it may have the power to two, but it's fiberglass and the frame is just so light. That was my initial thought, but apparently somebody installed that and used it, so it must be fine lol.

I'm looking into getting a body kit for it, right now I like this one

Don't think it comes with the rear spoiler though

I'll vote for the boat. Most of what I see towing snowmobiles around here are pickup trucks. I can't imagine someone taking a Corvette out in the winter to tow a snowmobile trailer. Heck I can't even see anyone driving a Corvette around here during the time of the year when snowmobilers are even allowed to use the trails. Now towing a light boat in the summer time I could see much sooner.

Yeah, I think thats the person who probably installed it.

That car was just made to drive those curvy roads up by that lake.....Such a fun drive, it just hugs the road

Yeah, my GF's Mirage (1.5L 4-door) had a tow hitch and lighting installed - I burst out laughing when we were looking into buying it.
