Smile Hey.

Hi, I'm getting my permit in a few months and I'm planning on getting into cars as I'm into computers. For now I'm stuck with an ATV, riding around my neighborhood, that is.. when nobody calls the cops. So I'm pretty excited to be able to drive... yeah. If I perform well in school this year I'll be able to have a Mustang Saleen as my first car, so I'm getting ready to buckle-down and do well.

I go by Illusion Of Progress on OCN if anyone's from there.
Hopefully I'll be able to learn about cars as I did with computers, or at least have the same interest level.

Cheers.

Really? I definately would not recomend a saleen as a first car heh. But I am glad and happy for you that you will be getting such a fine Mustang. Please be responsible with it.

I plan on taking great care of it. Although i'm dreaming quite a bit now..
I've been leaning toward manual, but would you suggest automatic or manual transmission? I would be willing to take the time to learn and become accustomed to shifting, and I've seen countless people being dissed for buying an automatic mustang.

If you're just planning on cruising around town in it, whatever's more comfortable for you. If you plan on racing it, or just want that hardcore performance, then definitely go with the manual.

Your insurance will cost you an arm and a leg every month, but go for automatic, you will get sick and tired in the traffic with a manual.

Manual is only good in EU, and nowhere else.

More and more drag racers are going automatic for the reliability. No miss shifts.

Does automatic have any drawbacks? I was told manual puts slightly more power to the wheels and gives more control over the car.
