Default Hello I'm new to the forums!

I come from overclock.net, but have made an account here today because well, I'm looking at buying my first car. Not sure what to get though....
Looking at a 2 door car, want a somewhat sporty look.
Budget is $1000, and I have to be able to get one in either NH, Mass, or Vermont. I'm looking at a 97 Saturn SC1 with 110k miles. Excellent condition. Good buy?
I don't know where to post this info, so lemme know if theres a better section for this!

Hey and welcome!
Plastic body so no rust, good engine too. Sounds like a good deal.

To be blunt, $1000 is most likely only going to get you a clunker. My honest opinion is to save up some more and then buy a decent vehicle.

Yes you can get a decent car at a good price sometimes, but you have to think long term as well. Pay $1000 now + more then likely a lot of repairs or pay $5000 now and very few repairs. Of course that is deffinately not the rule, but it does seem to end up that way more often then not.

That is all my opinion anyway.

With the right time and browsing you can normally pick up a nice ride for 2500. 5000 would be best but hell the best car I ever owned rest in peace I spent 1700 on.

I wouldn't' spend that on a first car. I've sunk $1500 into the Blazer..it's not my first car but if it was thats about how far i would go.
