![]() I am looking at ebay and have started to assemble a collection of snap on sockets. My question is if there are multiple lines of similar sockets or if i will endup with a coherent looking set by buying partial sets? In other words, if i am buying 1/4" 12-point deep sockets, will they all match or are there further distinctions to pay attention to? Looks like on the website they also show "flank drive" and "traditional"... any other generations or functional differences to pay attention to?

![]() Forgot to mention that i realize there is the impact vs hand tool distinction as well. This question is limited to hand-tool sockets.
