Question No Turning Signals

Hey guys, so I just bought my 2000 Grand Am a few days ago, and the blinkers don't work, not only do they not work, but they don't blink on the dash either, I'm not sure what to look for. I checked the fuses and they look good. The guy at the auto shop wants $45 to find out what the issue is, and then I also have to pay to get it fixed, which I don't mind, but I rather do some DIY stuff first. The hazard light button is missing, and I ordered a new one, I was thinking that since it's disconnected it caused everything to not work. But I'm not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Typically flasher replacement, pretty straightforward.

Do they light up but not flash, or just nothing?

If the hazard switch is broken your signal will likely not work. The signal circuit goes through the hazard switch.

The turn signal switch on these years of GM cars are known to cause problems, but if the flasher is broken I'd fix that first.

They light up along with the other lights when I start the car. I hope it's just the hazard switch that'll fix the issue. Maybe it is the turn signal switch, it is a 14 year old car. I ordered a switch from partsgeek.com and it still says processing. And I only have a few more days until my temp inspection sticker is up
