Default Part Identification

I have a 1986 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R which is a five speed manual.
I have been driving it minimally for the last few days and although I understand the clutch and the gear locations, I am looking for like a gear shifter plate? So that I can see putting the car into gear.

A shifter plate like that needs to be engineered for the car. Your car's shifter gate is too close for that to work. The gear position is too close together for a gate plate.

I suppose you could try, it would need to be custom made, and mounted way above the console near the shifter knob where the gate is wider. I think it would look very tacky and would not be worth the expense.

The cars that have these things do not shift very smoothly because you cannot apply lateral pressure to the shifter as you push it into the next gear, the motion that creates the smooth and quick shifting. Shifting with a gate is very cumbersome.

Thanks, the thing was after some driving I am much more comfortable with it and whatnot. Anyways, I was on my way home after just buying the car [we installed (essentially) a new stereo, all new speakers, subs, a capacitor, and a rockerford 100a^2 amp? Anyways I was going about 30 in 3rd gear when suddenly my radio beeps [like it was shutting off] and I noticed the rpm was at 0 so i steered to the side of the road and turned on the hazards. I tried restarting it and it wouldnt start so at 1 AM I had to call my friend and have him tow me. After looking at it and trying everything and it still wouldnt start, we disconnected the battery for a few minutes and then it started fine until we closed the hood and then it shut off but then restarted fine. Any ideas? Also the capacitor was up by about 1V than normal.

Check your grounds and charging voltage to begin with.

It may have also been an ignition module failure when hot. You would need to check for spark when it failed to start.

Well I got that issue fixed. Now it seem that my suspension on the rear may have popped my tires? I have stock tires/rims and looks like this: [not images of my car but what i found on google images.]

tire looks about like this and I knew the tires were worn and i would have to replace them but I was hoping I could make it until winter.
