Default 96 LeSabre brake problem/ master cylinder?

I've got a 96 LeSabre that has a problem where if you hit the brakes quickly the pedal seems to go to it's normal position and stop the car but if you gradually press on the pedal it goes all the way to the floor. It does stop the car but the pedal is all the way to the floor. I looked around and found a rusted out leaking brake line. I replaced the line and bleed the brakes but I still have the same problem. I'm thinking the only thing it could be is the master cylinder. I was thinking of saving a few bucks and rebuilding the one that's on there. I found this http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...entId=cat10005 at autozone. Anybody ever rebuild their master cylinder instead of buying one already rebuilt?

I have bought rebuilt parts from Auto Zone before.

They all went into cars that were abused and still are being abused. Great for the money, but if you can find a new one for about the same price as the rebuilt, go with that one instead.

I know it's next to impossible to find a cheap brake master cylinder, but look around.

Best of Luck

Check www.car-part.com

Its a search engine for salvage yards, and find a local salvage yard and then give them a call... If nothing turns up, then ill bet advance auto or autozone will be your best choice...

We replaced the master cylinder on the 95 Bonnie with one from NAPA.
