![]() I want to paint the new bronco. I've got a place to do it and equipment, but no experience lol. I know there's plenty of threads on it so I'm not gonna ask how haha. My question is how much do you guys think it will cost? I just want a basic gloss black. Nothing special. How much should I need? And how much will I be looking at spending?

![]() Spray paint? Probably like 60 bucks between that and primer lol. I did my Civic with just 6 cans in satin black lol. I skimped on the primer though and my paint job was ~35 iirc

![]() Decent primer, paint, and clear should set you back around $200. Blacks going to show imperfections though. I would suggest a primary or secondary color for your first time.

![]() So like a blue would turn out better? I don't like red on Broncos and yellow only looks good on sports cars. Haha. Does color add cost or should it be about the same?
A guy at my work suggested going to tractor supply and getting tractor paint and putting automotive hardener In it. Ever heard of doing this?

![]() All in all, i would say at least $600 for a good dupont or equivelant paint job. Buy a small can and play with it on some scrap peices of anything in the shop to get a feel for how it lays and proper technique.
And remember, applying the paint is the easy part. Its all the prep work that really matters, and makes for a great paint job. Lots of body filler, sand paper and high build primer, or and a few bandaids will be needed before any paint goes down. If you have ever watched overhaulin on TLC, you have seen in short what goes into a great paint job.
