Default Took my 95 Jimmy 4x4 to the track for the first time

I've retired my my '89 Jimmy 4x4 a couple of months ago and the replacement needed a baseline at the track before the V8. The '89 ran a [email protected] and is 200 lbs lighter than the '95.

The first 2 runs I just stabbed the gas on the amber, my old Jimmy responded best to this. The 3rd and last run I loaded the convertor, but I was last to stage and wasn't ready when I saw the amber so my reaction time was slow. Got a wee bit of wheel spin off the line.

First run, against a '80s Impala

[email protected]
R/T .586
60' 2.307
I won by .0093 sec.

Second run against a tubbed Vega, ha ha

[email protected]
R/T .527
60' 2.310
Lost by 4.67 sec.

Last run against a V8 Dakota pickup

[email protected]
R/T .708
60' 2.290
Lost by 1.22 sec.

The truck ran good as it always has since I got it on the road. Defiantly feels stronger than my old truck. Before the V8 I might get the electric fans and a better exhaust done and head to the track again.

My '89 Jimmy was just getting too tired. The body had some rust and the interior was getting worn and the plastics had begun cracking and I didn't want to invest a few thousand in body restoration.

I bought this one for $900 and I've put about 500 into it. It's 200 lbs heavier than the old one but 350 hp should compensate for that, at least in a straight line.

Hell no, still the high mileage 4.3

I've still got to swap my AWD stuff over from my old truck and upgrade the brakes. I have the 5.3 sitting on a stand in the shop but won't get around to tearing it down until later this year. Hopefully over the winter I will have time to swap it in.

16.3 isn't too shabby for a 4x4 SUV with a high mileage V6. That's still quicker than most of these honda's I see buzzing around town.

I am still very curious to know what my Jeep, and now my truck would run in the 1/4 with their mods. My 240 should be mid to high 15's and my Jeep still pulls leagues harder by the seat of the pants dyno.

I'm a bit curious why my V6 Blazer 4 door was faster than yours in the quarter mile though. Mine ran a 15.8 i believe.
