Yeah I have looked into the audi 4.2 v8 and while it is widely turbod in the r8 it has not be turbod in any other car that houses it. That is why i was looking into engine swaps because what other cars came with a v8 and awd. You have awd dodge/Chrysler, idk if thinking about that is a waste of time. Old audis, c4,c5,b4,b5, a4/s4/a6/s6, subarus maybe, eagle talon, 4matic mercs, infiniti g awd. The list really goes on. If you know any car that come with a tuneable v8 and awd then let me know.

The RS4 is most commonly supercharged. A guy down the street had one of the most powerful RS4's on the east coast, then he sold it and now hes built a TTRS/ Hes an Audi nut.

Those cars are both sick.

A supercharged rs4 does sound appealing. Do you know what he did to it? 4.0 whipple lol.

If you have the funds get a chevy small block v8. If its just a swap you're looking to do then some people might not support it if you drop it in a miata or rx8. The engine itself will be expensive and a turbo or twin turbo kit will be about the same price. It all depends on your budget.

I think that comments on the difficulty of swapping to All-Wheel Drive has eluded the OP somewhat. It's more than just a manner of connecting the motor to the wheel.

It's about changing the weight and weight distribution (due to the motor and all-wheel drive itself), polar moment of inertia, height of center of gravity and roll center, wheel hop and ride frequencies, damper ratios, wheel alignment.

Not to mention engine mounts, new drivetrain parts (including differentials), changing the static and dynamic power distribution, and posibly the steering angle.

T'won't be cheap nor easily, if at all afordable, and you might as well still end up with a car that doesn't ride and handle nearly as well.

A thought: is it the drivetrain pattern that is restricting you from putting the power down or indeed make progress?
