Default Cluff and TwIsT at the track

So we finally headed up to the Great Lakes Dragaway tonight. The place was PACKED with Mustangs, SRT-4's, and Mazda's. The announcer guy even made the comment "aaaand another Mazda." My girlfriend said that when I pulled up the announcer made a comment about the new GTO's but meh. Anywho... My times were:
First run: .769 RT, 2.137 60', 13.857 1/4, 101.26MPH trap.
Second run: .497 RT, 2.223 60', 14.147 1/4, 101.10MPH trap.

The only picture I have at the moment is this Cobra's booty:

The sad thing is that that Cobra got whooped on by an SRT-4. I don't know what either times were but it happened as we were leaving.

I was about to race an F-150 Lightning but the line got all screwed and I didn't get to. He was running about the same time as me but he couldn't get traction. I ended up racing a Prelude first, spanked him as he ran a 16 1/4 @ 89MPH and the second run I ran a regular F-150 but I don't think he had anything special.

On the second race I think my time would have been better had I not let off at the last second...

And I learned something:

1. I have no traction
2. My Car is very temperamental
3. My reaction times suck
4. MY AC hardly works.

So we get halfway there, I turn my AC on because I'm roasting, I finished rolling up my passenger window, and I notice that my car died. I figured that my foot slipped off the clutch, started it again, it was really rough, then PCM recovered, and then stalled again. Turned it back on, and kept the idle at ~1500 RPM and it was ok. Get to the strip, sit around for an hour waiting to pay, I turn the AC back on. it starts idling really rough, and PCM recovers yet again. I roll the windows down and sweat for 3 hours.

I thought this was going to be mostly guys with their regular daily driver - Hell no LOL. there had to be at least 30 Mustangs, 7 SRT-4's and I can't even count how many Civics and Mazdas, There were a lot of Cobalts too,but a good bit were the Supercharged SS's.

My first run wound up being a 17.8 (The official was yelling at me when the tree lit) at 81mph. I don't even remember what I was up against, all I know was it did a 110mph.

I skipped the waterbox because I don't get enough traction to start with, and I just do a dry burnout, and I was spinning for a good 300 feet. - 100 feet past the tree LOL

Ring around with another hour wait (you spend a lot of time idling).

I was up against a modded Civic SI the 2nd time, Better start and no spin. I had him until 5000 RPM's and then guess what. Damn VTEC! I didn't get a time slip (their printer was fubard) But I was 5MPH faster minimum, I'm assuming low 17s.

Oh, and by the time we got to the track - Half of my recovery tank was empty....Again.

My ac is working again kind of (it is still a little rough, but only ~200rpm jumps), but its not cold at all.

Lol oh yeah. I didn't get a picture of that. It was just a crappy V6 though, so it wasn't worthy of a photo.

Isn't your GTO a manual Twisted? Sounded like an automatic, or else you're a pro at shifting

Nah it's an auto. I wish it was the M6. There was another one I was thinking about buying. It was Spice Red, 6spd, and 20k miles, but the other dealer wanted 20k for it.

But my car has no low-end power... The power jumps at 2750-3000. Need to get a CAI, exhaust, and possibly cam it but not sure about the cam atm.

I didn't have a girl-on-demand Video system available for rent.

my focus kept breaking grip going down the track. It was almost like driving on snow. I even put my brand new (Christmas) tires in the fronts.

how was your trip home? I took 94 to 173. Was home in an hour and half, including half an hour at Mcdonalds eating and getting shorts back on.
