I'm about to receive two cars I imported, one being an X5 2009 3.0 and the other, an Audi S4 4.2 2008. My question is, would an abc of both engines will be an obvious thing to do ?. Both cars were certified so I know they we in good shape, but 1 year in a container cant be good for both cars, Im I right ?. What should I check before turning them on aside from oil level ?. I really dont know much about mechanichs, and Im worried that after a year without being turned on or driven, maybe the engine internals are not in top shape.

You're right. The battery is most likely dead so chances are, your vehicle might not start at all. Gas degrades in quality after a while and on some cars, seals tend to dry out.
It should be okay for you to start it up. Let it idle for a bit, drive it around and I would also suggest getting an oil change as well. |
