Default Whats a good first car for 17YO? *Sporty*

I searched for Maximas, Subaru Impreza WRX*Hatch*, Honda Civics, etc… Please let me know why'd you recommend a car that you chose. Im currently searching for a car w/ a 15k Budget. I can go over but by a few thousand, but mostly prefer 15k & below..

First off cut your budget by a lot. No more than $5k should be spent on a first car. You will probably either wreck it or trash it.

What's your location? We'll find some options for you on craigslist.

Speaking from experience, Yes, cut your budget. I have wrecked ONCE, but that was lucky as it wasn't reported.

That was about 7 years ago, when I was 18.

Definitely recommend a 1996-2000 Civic as a first car. I have one and it has 232k miles on it, although my dumbass blew it up and have a lower mile engine in it, but my transmission is still original. They're cheap to work on, easy to work on, very reliable, and require little maintenance (Basically oil changes, filter changes, plugs, wires). You can pick one up around here for $1100-2500 depending on shape. And they are common cars so if something were to go bad replacement parts won't run ya an arm and a leg. lol.

Everyone buys a civic. Get a Turbo Volvo 940 or 740 with the 5 speed. You won't regret it

I'm sure a 17 year old doesn't want his car mistaken for the geography teacher's car...
