Unhappy Problems after front wheel alignment

Hi guys,

I have an old sedan from Premier automobiles (premier padmini 137D only in India). Since i noticed unacceptable irregular tire wear i took my car for getting wheel aligned for the first time. The mechanic at the shop told me that only camber, caster, toe in and toe out adjustments are applicable for this car and also rear axle has no parameters for alignment.

Well, he took some 10 minutes and had the infrared wheel alignment done. The tires had required amount of air pressure.

The next day onwards i see the steering wheel is to be at 1.00PM position for the car to cruise straight line on level road. That means when i leave my hands off the steering while driving, it comes back to 12.00 position but the car is going towards left.

I took the car second time to the mechanic to correct this problem. He did the alignment for second time and still no improvement noticed. He said he has nothing left to check regarding alignment or some work shop guys can correct this problem. When i disagreed, he took his tool and went under the car not even knowing what to check and adjust. Since he said nothing is left to check, i was afraid that he may bring any new problems and so i took the car back immediately.

Guys, the problem is not any sort of pulling to right or left.. steering normally comes to 12.00 position after a turn, but at 12.00 position the car is not cruising in straight line.

Could any one please help me get out of this problem. Have you encountered similar issue? Please help

He forgot to check the steering wheel. There's nothing mechanically wrong there if it doesn't pull, you could have the steering wheel on upside down if you wanted to. If it bothers you just bring it back or bring it somewhere else and tell them the steering wheel is on crooked, I think you had a miscommunication last time. It should only take a couple minutes to fix

I would disagree more then likely the alignment is 100% but the car will track what ever way the tires take it. I suggest replacing the 2 worn tires and I bet she drives perfectly straight.

If the tire doesn't sit square on the ground it will change the position of the wheel. It doesn't have to pull.
