Default Rims/Tires for Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

I am considering upgrading my rims and tires on my new Jeep wrangler Unlimited and I am wondering what the biggest tires I can fit on it without a lift? The ones I was looking at are 34.8" in diameter. These were Nitto tires. The Rims I was looking at to go with these were the 22" Rockstar. Do I need a lift for these? In general, could a 22" rim work on my car? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

why buy a Wrangler to ruin it with 22" wheels? specially a heavy hard to work with rockstar. the Jeep really doesn't have the brakes or suspension for that size wheel and will endangee those around it. plus I believe 31 is as big as it will go with out a lift. Depending on the year which you did not provided.

I doubt you could run a 35" tire without a lift of some sort. And i have to agree with lautinjr, 22" is huge! If your going t actually offroad with the jeep, go with an 18" wheel, or 20" max. Youll get much better traction.

I wouldn't go any bigger than a 16, otherwise it would just look silly. And I think the biggest you can fit on most wranglers is a 32" tire with minimal rubbing. But its also dependant on the back spacing of the rim you choose. Do you have a budget for this upgrade?

Though I agree that it would look silly... I'd just do a simple 1-2" lift for those. 36" is about as far as I would go.

But, honestly, I'd do this:

16 is small nowadays, even on a wrangler. 17 and 18" is really the sweet spot. Affordable tires, and plenty of choices, while still looking great, and no weighing a ton...
