Default Do I need to replace my tire after hitting the curb?

Hi all,

I just hit the side of the curb with slow speed. And there are some small damages to my right front tire. Curb chopped a small piece off, but it did not go through and the tire did not reshape. Before the hit my tires are in good condition (my car only has 20k miles on it). I attached several pics for details. My question is do I need to change my tires? Any input will be much appreciated!

I would make sure your spare is ready and aired up, and start saving for a set of tires. Minimal of two for either front or back, wherever that tire is. Never replace one tire or one side. Always do front set or back set. Whenever possible, do all 4.

And.... how 'slow' are we talking? 20MPH on a rough curb?

Thanks for the reply. It was slow, like 15mph but the curb has a small incline down. The curb was like the one in the pic attached and I was driving in the direction shown in red arrow.

Tire looks fine, rim is ugly but doesn't appear to be any damage. Pay attention for any vibrations at speed, and watch your tire pressure but I would say no harm done.

Thanks for the reply. It is been a day now and no sign of air leak or bulge. So I hope there is no major damage.

Then you weren't paying attention, either. People underestimate how dangerous driving can be. You have to have 100% control 100% of the time.
