Default Video - What happens when run flats go flat? Runflat vs BIG Nail!

Hey everyone,

I made a small video on what happens when your run flat goes completely flat and what it's like to drive with it.

The safety concern of cars pulling on the freeway (or even just a highway) is certainly forefront in the manufacturer's minds.

It's why I advise drivers with regular tyres to not pull over right at the instance of a flat (on the open road, at least), but rather seek a safe place (one rigidly seperated from the carriageway) to pull over, even if it means driving a couple of dozens of feet further on.

I get the issues some have with runflats, i.e. added unsprung weight and harsher ride but overall it is not a bad compromise, an changing them to regular tyres (as some do) tends to result in lots of messing around with ride frequencies and cornering stiffnesses - normally to the detriment of performance or indeed safety.
