Default custom wheels problems?

I am having trouble keeping my custom wheels on my car balanced. Is this a common problem with custom wheels? I have noticed a vibration in my steering wheel. It seems to go away once the tires have been rotated and balnced. I have had to have this done about every 1500 miles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure the shop doing the balancing is using the correct style weights for the wheels. Stamped steel wheels use weights that clip onto the rim. Alloy wheels have a thicker rim and usually need self-adhesive weights that stick to the inside of the rim. The clip on the clip-on weight is not big enough and can loosen up and cause the weight to fall off. Also, make sure you check pressure often. Low pressure will wear out your tires much faster.

Serious Kat it might be time to trade up. Custom wheels are always a problem with the right balance they will stay balanced for a lond time the problem is everybody just knows how to do what the machine tells them it takes finesse to do a great balance. You may want the alignment checked to it can cause premature wear on the tires not much noticable to the eye but enough to keep throwing them out of balance. How heavy are these wheels?
