![]() This if for a 91' Lancer GTI.
Clutch released and in gear, when i press on the gas sometimes it revs up, then a second or less later it lowers and starts pulling. When braking sometimes it releases and holds rapidly. Also sound of scratching metal when going at certain speeds. (it's not continuous, it's 1 per rev of the wheel.)

![]() Sounds like the clutch is worn out, no grip left and the engine revs without accelerating the car. It will be worse in higher gears. Replace the clutch ASAP, continued driving will tear up the flywheel.
I'm not sure exactly what your brake issue is,but it sounds like you need to pull the wheels and check the brake linings. If you are hearing noises you need to pull the wheels!

![]() The RPM only rises about 500? When it rises nothing moves.
