Default Code Alarm CA-135 how to tell if its installed

I have a 2003 Corolla with manual locks. When I bought it there was paperwork for a Code Alarm CA-135, specifically an owner's manual and warranty information. It also came with a car remote that says "AUTOPAGE" on it (I'm assuming AUTOPAGE is the company, but I don't understand why it's a different company than the alarm system). I bought the car from my sister and she doesn't seem to know anything about it or if the alarm system is operable. The only indication I have of a security system is a small blue light installed in the center console under the emergency brake which my sister pointed out as part of the security system. Code Alarm doesn't seem to exist anymore (at least they don't have a website and the phone number goes to a different company).

Does anyone have any information on how I can tell if the security system has been installed and how to get it operating if it has? If it's not installed I have no problem throwing away the remote and paperwork. But if it is then it would be a nice addition to the car.

Thanks in advance!

is the light always on, or blinks when you arm the alarm? if you have manual locks, that means alarm has no function of remote entry, but it still can disable ignition, or starter.
if your light is steady on, and remote does not do anything, it may be either shot, or in valet mode. which is pretty much shuts off alarm. to disable it, you need to find valet switch, they are usually located close to the light, somewhere under the dash, have ignition on, and flip it, if light goes out, you enabled alarm, but without actually looking at the car, it is only a guess.

Default Figured it out!

I looked down by the pedals and found a box with a lot of wiring coming out that said AUTOPAGE RS-662. I then found the owner's manual online and figured out how to work it. I guess the paperwork from "Code Alarm" didn't belong. @deltaolds you were right that it was on valet mode. It turns out I can start my car remotely! The car's been in our family for about 6 years and we've had no idea. It also has a security system, but no remote locks and the trunk opening feature doesn't work. I guess since the car came with manual locks the locking feature couldn't be installed? Oh well, I'm stoked about the remote starter, it'll be great in the winter!

Thanks for the help!

Typically yeah you can't just install remote locks. Aftermarket companies make them that work okay though.
